In 1984, John R. Lamkin II recorded and released a self-produced album on vinyl called ‘Hot’.

That album, with the exception of one track, contains his own original compositions and arrangements.

Lamkin later joined the faculty at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as a professor in the Fine Arts Department.

While there, he directed the UMES Jazz and Wind Ensembles, taught jazz history, and provided instruction to students learning to play brass, percussion and string instruments.

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues.

It’s believed that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way the human brain processes pain signals.

According to the National Fibromyalgia Association, an estimated 10 million people in the U.S. suffer from this condition.

75 to 90 percent of the people who have fibromyalgia are women and the disorder is often seen in families, among siblings, or mothers and their children.

UMES 30 debuted on Dec. 2, 2018. Over the past 8 months, show host Dr. Joshua K. Wright has interviewed a number of guests covering a wide variety of topics ranging from sports and athletics to self care and the environment.

Gregory has been a staff writer for TIME covering sports since 2002 and has written about everything from the Detroit Pistons’ run to the NBA championship to new marketing efforts in the golf and tennis industries and the rebuilding of Iraq’s Olympic team. His column appears on TIME.com every Friday.

In 2013, Dr. Wright took a life-changing trip to the West African nation of Ghana, organized by Sankofa International, Inc., a non-profit based in the United States (est. 1993) whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for Africans living in Africa.
