Delaware National Guard holding annual holiday concert

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — The Delaware National Guard is holding its annual holiday concert.

The 17th annual concert is being held Wednesday evening at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington. The concert is free and will feature a performance by the guard's 287th Army Band. Part of the event is a food drive for non-perishable food.

Delaware Gov. Jack Markell is expected to attend along with local and elected officials.

Mumford & Sons, Florence + the Machine headline festival

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Firefly Music Festival has announced its 2016 lineup.

Festival officials announced Wednesday that the fifth annual show will return to The Woodlands in Dover from June 16 to June 19, 2016.

Headliners include Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, Florence + the Machine and Deadmau5.

The lineup also features more than 100 acts including Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Blink-182, Death Cab for Cutie, M83, Tame Impala, The 1975, A$AP Rocky, Of Monsters and Men, Major Lazer and Chvrches.

Legendary jazz vocalist Mark Murphy dies in New Jersey at 83

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Legendary jazz vocalist Mark Murphy has died in New Jersey after a lengthy illness that kept him from performing since 2012. He was 83.

Manager Jean-Pierre Leduc says Murphy died Thursday at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood.

Murphy was raised in Syracuse, New York, where he was discovered at a jam session by Sammy Davis Jr. in 1953.
