WESM Among Finalists in 2019 Chesapeake AP Contest

The Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association (CAPBA) has announced its list of contest finalists  for the 2019 calendar year.

WESM-FM has been chosen as a finalist in the Non-metro Outstanding Public Affairs category. 

The entry selected by CAPBA is an episode of WESM's locally produced program UMES 30 titled "The Pain of Living With Fibromyalgia".

UMES 30 is a weekly talk show (Sunday mornings at 10:30) which covers a variety of topics told from the perspective of people from the local community and from around the nation. The show is currently hosted and produced by Brian Daniels (Afternoon Jazz).

CAPBA had 26 judges evaluate 284 entries from 22 radio and television stations in 2019. Actual winners of the contest will be announced in June.
