PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Take a Kid To The Game, the annual event hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore that allows youth into the Hawks’ basketball games for free, will return when The Shore hosts Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 15.
Children, ages 12 and younger, will receive a free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket, to watch the Hawks take on the Wildcats. The women tip off at 2 p.m. followed by the men at approximately 4 p.m.
“We encourage you to save the date. Our campus is excited about this event where kids from the community will have a chance to be a part of our game day experience and support our Take A Kid to the Game program,” Keith Davidson athletic director for the Hawks said. “This game day experience is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model and learn about sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing court.”
This is the 23rd year in a row that Maryland Eastern Shore has hosted The Take A Kid to the Game program, that also aims to promote an active lifestyle. Children who register will receive a voucher for free food & drink and be eligible to participate in games and contests. Games, contests, play areas and more will also be available to the children, as well as inflatables thanks to Parties, Etc. in Salisbury, Maryland.
