Power surge: Astros homer 6 times in 11-7 win

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Astros put on an impressive display of power Wednesday night, hitting six home runs to get their seventh win in eight games with a 11-7 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Jason Castro, Carlos Pena and J.D. Martinez each had two-run homers, and Jose Altuve, Matt Dominguez and Marwin Gonzalez added solo shots as the Astros came one home run shy of a single-game franchise record for home runs.

The Astros tagged Freddy Garcia (2-3) for four homers and reached reliever Steve Johnson for two in the fourth inning.

Nationals finally come back late, beat Mets 3-2

WASHINGTON (AP) — Steve Lombardozzi's sacrifice fly in the ninth Tuesday night gave the Washington Nationals their first late-inning comeback win of the season, capping a two-run rally for a 3-2 victory over the New York Mets.

The Nationals won for the first time this season when trailing after six innings. They snapped a two-game skid and moved back to .500 at 29-29.

Against closer Bobby Parnell (4-2), Ryan Zimmerman led off the ninth with a double to right-center, barely beating the tag at second, and then advanced to third on a wild pitch.

Orioles get 4-1 win to snap Astros' winning streak

HOUSTON (AP) — Danny Valencia homered, Chris Tillman threw seven solid innings and the Baltimore Orioles ended Houston's six-game winning streak with a 4-1 win over the Astros on Tuesday night.
