Seaford man faces charges after attempted robbery

SEAFORD, Del. (AP) — A Seaford man is facing charges after police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a local drug store.

Police arrested 41-year-old David Donaway on Thursday night after receiving a report of a man wearing latex gloves walking around inside a Rite Aid store.

Police found Donaway in a vehicle in the parking lot and took him into custody. Inside the vehicle, they found a demand note and a small box with wires and tape attached to it. A bomb squad determined the box to be a hoax device.

AIDS Day

Delaware official mark World AIDS Day

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Gov. Jack Markell is joining other Delaware officials in celebrating World AIDS Day.

Markell was to join Wilmington Mayor James Baker, public health director Dr. Karyl Rattay and representatives from the Delaware HIV Consortium on Friday to promote free HIV testing.

The event takes place at the Walgreens store on North Market St. in Wilmington.

World AIDS Day is held each Dec. 1 as an opportunity for people to show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died from AIDS.
