“PEACE IN THE PARK” has been cancelled for 2018 due to weather forecasts for heavy rain, winds, and flooding. The local gathering had been scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 15, in Salisbury City Park.
Event organizers will begin preparing next spring for Peace in the Park SBY2019. Salisbury Mayor Jake Day has proclaimed the third Saturday in September as Peace Day in Salisbury. A United Nations International Day of Peace has been celebrated every September since 1982 in countries, cities, and towns around the world. Salisbury first began celebrating “PEACE IN THE PARK” in 2009. For more information, see facebook.com/sbypeaceinthepark or call 410-370-6561 or 410-749-2088.
