-
WESM's General Manager and local news anchor Stephen Williams interviewed Nick Clemons, head of the Nick Clemons Band and the eldest son of the late Clarence Clemons.
PRINCESS ANNE, MD -- For the one-year anniversary of Clarence Clemons' passing, Nick Clemons (Clarence's eldest son), will return with his band to Ocean City, Maryland, Saturday, June 23rd, for a tribute concert to the late Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and music icon. The Nick Clemons Band has a show lined up at Trader Lee’s Bar located at the corner of Routes 50 and 611 in West Ocean City.
Clarence, who was also known as “The Big Man”, was a UMES alumni (as well as Nick) and also a prominent member of Bruce Springsteen’s E. Street Band, playing the tenor saxophone.
Taking the stage at 4 pm will be New Jersey’s The Lyriqs, which will feature a unique blend of blues/pop/rock fusion.
At 7 pm, the Nick Clemons Band begins their performance. The band is a rocking New Jersey powerhouse band led by Nick on guitar, Joey Stann on saxophone and flute, Jim Squirrell on trumpet, Eric Gonzalez on drums and Jake Hughes on keyboard.
The band has been tearing up Jersey Shore venues this Spring and now their tour lands them back to Ocean City, the town that holds so much significance to Nick and his family.
