WESM 91.3 FM is a nationally recognized non-profit public radio station dedicated to championing jazz as a culturally significant and indigenous American art form. It is the only full-time mainstream jazz station on Delmarva.
WESM plays mainstream jazz by both nationally and locally recognized artists, as well as blues, gospel and world music genres. Our announcers choose 100% of the music they play. It also offers up-to-the-minute news, weather and sports information.
Our station began broadcasting in March 1987 and is an affiliate member of National Public Radio. We also stream our programming live via the internet, available 24 hours a day. WESM is licensed to the town of Princess Anne, Maryland, is currently owned by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
WESM 91.3 FM was recently honored with an award presented by the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association (CAPBA) for Outstanding Public Affairs Program or Series in 2008. This award was given for the local feature entitled The Mar-Va Theater Reborn, Part 2

Daphne Chatham, Administrative Assistant -- Daphne Chatham came to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in December of 1999 and to WESM in March of 2009. She graduated from Wor-Wic Community College in 1989 with an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science.
On-air Talent:
Stephen Williams -- WESM's award-winning news director and the voice of the station's weekday morning drive time starting at 6 during Morning Edition (NPR). Stephen can also be heard Monday evenings at 6:30 on the locally produced audio magazine In Focus.
Yancy Carrigan -- Yancy brings his own special soulful flavor to mainstream jazz on WESM's Morning Jazz Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon. And if retro R&B is your thing, be sure to tune in on Saturdays from noon until 5 p.m. for Music From the Wax Museum--a program featuring pop music from the '60s, '70s and early '90s. Mr. Carrigan also is WESM's music director.
Angel Resto, Jr. -- Angel manages day-to-day operations at WESM. He is the host and producer of Jazzology (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1-4 p.m.), which features the latest in mainstream jazz. Angel can also be heard each Sunday evening at 6 on his world music program Radio Mundo.
Brian Daniels -- Brian can be heard weeknights on Evening Jazz from 8 to 10 p.m. Evening Jazz features a blend of the latest mainstream jazz with big band/swing and bebop.
Molly -- Perk up and bring some sunshine into your Friday mornings with Molly on Morning Jazz from 10 a.m. to noon. She brings a very upbeat vibe to her jazz program and is always "proud to be here!"
